These thirty Democratic Congressmen all voted for Obamacare the first time around. But Pelosi cannot count on their votes again as Obama tries to jam the bill through using reconciliation in the Senate. These members are all vulnerable and are frightened of the voter backlash their support for Obamacare has kindled.

The League of American voters is running ads in each of their districts to press them to vote no on Obamacare.

when congress, with the president's blessing, tries to do an end run around established rules in order to get this slimy bill approved, you know they're not looking out for what's best for the people...

While on the topic - if Bush was SOOOO bad, why does the Liberal Left continue to compare Obama to him? Is that height to which you aspire?

I see the demonstrators against the Democratic Health Care bill showed their TRUE colors Saturday in Washington with their cheap Racist slurs outside the Capitol. I would have hoped that their opposition was based on disagreement on the issues or content of the legislation and not on the color or sexual persuasion of the congressmen voting for the bill. When people get to the point of actually spitting on a congresswoman, that says a lot about their character. or lack there of.

Well - I'm a european, living in Norway. Socialized medical care is available for all. With option of private care for those that can afford it - interestingly enough, even the rich opt for the public medical care when things are really serious. This gives me security and freedom, I'm not held hostage by employers because I depend on them for healthy insurance - and I don't think it costs me anymore in taxes than you people pay in insurance premiums. I'm sure the system could be more effective and cheaper - but hey, have you guys looked at the profits the health business is making in the USA?

Those of you who are against socialized medicine are crazy - do you really think the Health insurance firms have your best intrests at heart?

Haven't heard of any Health Care Insurers going belly up. They seem to be in better shape financially than most industries in the US and stand to profit more.

Waitin2long, would you care to take a guess at what the "profit margin" (not profit total) is for many health insurance providers?

I don't know what the profit margin is, but it seems to be wide enough to give good returns to the stock holders of Health Care companies. If the Obama Care bill was so bad, you couldn't tell it from the way the Health Care Industry stocks led the stock market today. People do not run to invest in market segments that appear to be losers and evidently they've feel they've found winners today.

Profit margin (percentage of return on investment) for most major health insurance companies is 2-3%.
