As I get older there are times when I don't get as hard as I used to. Our doctor has given me Viagra tablets and told me to take one third of a tablet as and when required. (Not all that often thankfully!) I'm OK with this but my wife is worried, her female friends have told her there can be all sorts of side effects, headache, sickness etc. Can any user (or their wives/partners) advise please.

As with any medication there is a possibility of a side effect. Viagra started out as a heart medication. One side effect was erections.So it's safe but if you get an adverse reaction stop taking it and consult your doctor. The only side effect I ever had from it was an evening of fun.

I totally agree w/wllver,works well for me. Take 1/3 or almost 1/2 and set to do some pounding that nite or evening.Tell ur wife to be prepared-gets hard like in ur 20s or 30s .

i've had better luck with cialis. like you i don't get as hard as i used to (i'm 55). the cialis works for me very well, lasts at least 48 hours! only side effects seem to be a slight bak-ache sometimes and a satisfied wife who likes a good screw.

I am quite young and was fairly young when I was giving Viagra so I could perform for our childs conception on demand. My side effect was having a serious banging of my heart that lasted a very scary hour. I decided not to take them anymore for that reason.

I break mine into quarters....one quarter is all I need for a session. Easier on my circ. system and helps the prescription last longer.

There have been recent studies comfirming hearing loss from use of Viagra. You might get some information and up-to-date facts from the affects of using Viagra at webmd.com

Viagra stuffs me up so bad I can't breathe. Levitra is much better for me. And as paint said, all ED meds have the possibility of cusing loss.

Nasal congestion for me too. Also, the first few times that I took it, I felt like I was looking thru blue tinted glasses.
Forget taking it if you drink alcohol prior having sex. The alcohol kills it's effectiveness.

Cialis is better than viagra as its effect is longer lasting and you can take food as well.
I take it (1/4 tablet daily) for the same reason as most folk on here (not as hard), that really hasn't improved, though the cialis helps me keep me hard so I don't go off the boil so to speak. I went to my doctor when I noticed I had a problem, was put down to being pre-diabetic (higher than normal blood sugar levels, but not high enough to classifty me as type 2 diabetic). I dieted and went from nearly 15stone to 11 1/2 stone. My hard-ons aren't any harder but I manage to keep them a bit better.
Maybe you are the same?
I find the biggest turn on is watchin wife being pounded by someone else or watching dvds of her.
