mock "Suzy Q" cakes- (made by Hostess) better

Your favorite box devil's food cake mix
5 Tbl flour 1 C milk (whole milk, not skim or 2%) 1 C sugar 3/4 C Crisco 1/4 C salted butter (1/2 stick) 1/4 t vanilla extract
Prepare devils food cake mix as directed on the box in a 13X9 pan, and allow to cool
mix flour and milk in a saucepan over low heat stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes thick (like paste) and allow to cool in fridge.
While flour and milk mixture is cooling. Cream together sugar, crisco, and butter with an electric mixture in a large bowl. Once creamed, add cooled milk/flour mixture and mix thoroughly for app. 4 minutes, add vanilla and mix for an additional minute.
Cut cake horizontaly first, then cut cake lengthwise, then cut cakes into rectangles about 2"X4" rectangles.
Seperate tops, and using a zip-lock bag, snip one end off and pipe the frosting on the recatngle cake bottoms. add the tops (making like a sandwich) MAKES 12
This recipe is easy and trust me you'll like it if you like those "Suzy Q" cakes from the store.
This frosting is lite and can be made for any type cake frosting.. (not to mention great to lick off of your partners body !! )
