Anyone got anything new to just throw in the crock pot while at work? Let me know. Thanks.

irish stew

1 to 1 1/2 lbs lamb or beef, cut up in chunks
handfull onions ,little pearl or regular chopped
2celery, sliced
3 carrots , peeled in chunks
3 parsnips,peeled in chunks
4 potatoes, peeled and quatered
beer ,a can
beef stock c.
water to cover
salt to taste
pepper to taste

put all into crockpot and cook on low 10 hrs .
can thicken juices if you like .

can add whatever vegtables you like my mama added butternut squash , peas , sweet potatoes depended on what she had around

it can be cook less than 10 hrs just by time i get home at nite its 10 hrs so i cut everything very chunky so vegtables dont turn to mush

2 lb chuck roast, cut up into chunks
2 c. baby carrots
1 large onion , sliced
1 green pepper , sliced
1/3 c. flour
3 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. chili sauce
1 ( 14 1/2 oz.) can beef broth
2 c. sliced mushrooms
pkg wide noodles
1 (8oz) sour cream


in crockpot put beef, carrots , bell pepper and onions.
add flour ,paprika, salt, thymeand pepper
toss to coat .
add chili sauce and broth mix well.
cover cook on low 8 hrs or till beef tender.
add mushrooms mix well cover cook 30 min. or till mushrooms tender.
meanwhile cook noodles , drain.
stir sour cream into crockpot untill well mixed.

serve over noodles in large bowls

swiss steak


2 lbs beef round steak, cut up
1 (14 1/2 oz) can diced tomatoes with basilgarlic
3/4 c. water
4 c.quatered unpeeled new red potatoes
1 large onion, cut in half sliced
1 green pepper , sliced
1 c. corn



1. layer potatoes, beef, onion and green peppers in crockpot.

2. mix water and tomatoes together pour ontop a beef and vegtables.

3.cover cook for 8 hrs.on low or till beef tender.

4. add corn mix well. cover cook for 30 min. or till corn done.

chicken in sour cream sauce


1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp.paprika
1/4 tsp. lemon pepper seasoning
6 skinless chicken breasts
1 (10 3/4 oz) can cream mushroom or cream chicken condensed soup
1 c. (8 oz) sour cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
3/4 lb. fresh mushrooms ,sliced


1. combine spices rub over chicken.put in crockpot

2. in bowl mix soup, sour cream and broth stir in mushrooms. pour over chicken.

3.cover cook on low for 8 hrs or till chicken done. thicken sauce if desired

have over rice ,noodles or potatoes




apple chicken


4 large potatoes ,peeled cubed
4 large carrots ,peeled sliced
1 large red onion ,halved sliced
1 celery rib, sliced
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 lbs. chicken breast , cubed
1 large apple , peeled cubed
1 1/4 c. apple cider
1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar



1.layer potatoes,carrots,onion &celery in crockpot

2.combine spices sprinkle 1/2 over vegetables.

3.add chicken then apple.

4.mix apple cider and vinegar pour over apples.

5.sprinkle remaining spices on.cover cook on high for 5 hrs or till vegetables and chicken done.

I have one for you to try


Texas Hash


2 pounds ground beef
2 medium green peppers chopped
2 medium onions chopped
2 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons worchestershire sauce
2 1 lb cans of diced tomatoes.
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup uncooked converted rice

brown ground beef in a skillet and drain.
Put all ingredients in a large crock pot and mix together well.
cook on low 6-8 hours


someone told me u can use a can of rotel in this and it gives it a little kick. I haven't tried that yet.

2 (10 oz.) cans condensed tomato soup
1-1/4 cups water
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 cups baby carrots
1 onion, chopped
1 lb. bag prepared frozen meatballs
12-18 gingersnap cookies, crumbled
1/2 cup sour cream


In crockpot, combine soup, water, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Stir until well mixed and add onions, carrots, and meatballs.
cook on low 7 to 8 hrs.then add gingersnaps and cook 20 min. or so tasteing to see if you need more gingersnaps.stir in sour cream. serve over noodles.

Thanks for all of the recipies. My kids are so busy in after school activities and with my after school responsiblities, we so often miss good hot meals! These will be great, can't wait to try them!!!
