Im looking for a recipe for rice pudding that my mother use to make on the stove. all the recipes i have are the ones were it is baked in the oven.

vanilla rice pudding
1 tbsp vanilla extract 6 c. milk 3/4 c. sugar 3/4 c. arborio rice or regular long grain 1/2 c. raisins or dried cherries 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 c. heavy cream
1.put milk and sugar in 4 qt saucepan heat to boiling over med heat stirring occasionally.
2. stir in rice heat to boiling reduce to low.
3.cover simmer 1 1/4 hr. stirring occasionally until very creamy and slightly thickened. stir in raisins , vanilla and salt.
4.pour into bowl can be served warm or chill for 6 hrs . beat cream until stiff peaks form . fold into rice pudding .
